From an Idea to a Final Year Project.

In 2022, as final year students studying Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at SLTC Research University, we started this significant project as our final year project. We wanted to use our technical knowledge to solve real-world optimization problems. We decided to focus on improving timetable scheduling as the use case, and the environment especially as universities. We realized that arranging classes efficiently is crucial for the management. Our goal was to find a way to make this process smarter and more effective for all the stakeholders involved.

Our project, named Project Almanac, aimed to create a solution that would optimize how lectures and lab sessions are scheduled. We believed that technology could transform the way universities manage their schedules. Through this project, we aimed to bring a positive change to educational management by making schedules that work better for everyone involved. Our journey was a mix of further learning, applying what we knew, and developing something that could make a real impact. It was a chance for us to turn our classroom learning into something practical and useful for the world.
